Details went international!! We had the absolute pleasure of attending the FleurEx Conference in the United Kingdom this month! The British Florist Association is such a wonderful organization, and we enjoyed meeting so many new industry friends across the pond. Here is a photo collage of our time at FleurEx!
If you have not attended FleurEx in the past, it is a brilliant event coordinated by the British Florist Association to meet fellow industry members, attend live demonstrations and classes, and attend the Industry Awards to honor standouts in our industry. Free daily demonstrations by renowned national and international designers, business pop-in sessions, and exhibitors spread across four floors were included in FleurEx 2022.
Attendees were on the hunt for fresh goods, creative floral design concepts, new wholesale flower suppliers, and more to help them stand out in their community. Sharing our software with the florists and demonstrating to them how we would have a significant positive impact on their business was thrilling. It was so wonderful to finally meet our Dedicated UK Detailers, Paula Rooney (@paularooneyfloraldesigner) and Oops A Dasiy (@oopsadaisyflorist) at the conference, as well!
Adding FleurEx to your calendar is the best chance to see some of the top designers in Europe and the UK. Ahti Lyra (@ahti.lyra) from Estonia, Carles Fontanillas (@carlesjubanyfontanillas) from Spain, and UK florist Sabine Darrall (@sabinefloral) curated the live floral demonstrations on Saturday, October 15, and Sunday, October 16.
The setting is prepared for the glittering annual Gala Dinner Dance and Industry Awards presentation on Saturday night, honoring the best in the floral industry. We were honored to be in the top four for the Service Provider of the year. Check out this article by The British Florist Association to see everyone nominated. Congrats to all of the big winners of the award ceremony!
A huge congratulations shout-out to our new friend Ben Cross (pictured above) from Crosslands Flower Nursery for winning Grower of the Year! You rock, Ben!
We thank the British Florist Association and all of the attendees of FleurEx for the warm welcome and incredible event! We can't wait to come back again soon!
About The British Florist Association
The British Florist Association was formed in 1948 and started life as the British Flower Industry Association. Since its formation the association has grown from strength to strength. The first recorded industry trade body for the British cut flower industry was established back in 1917. Called the British Flower Marketing Association, it was founded by a group of growers, florists and wholesalers at New Covent Garden Flower Market, where the board bearing the names of the association’s presidents is still proudly displayed today.
In 1956, the BFA was one of the founder members of Florint (originally FEUPF), which has brought together the national florist associations of more than 20 European countries .In 2010, the British Florist Association acquired the Society of Floristry. Today, the British Florist Association is the trade body representing all of the UK’s independent florist businesses. The BFA organises the UK’s florist industry conference and the UK’s trade show for florists. The BFA also work in Education and Training as well as high-profile floristry competitions.
