The Taylor & Travis Engagement (Details Edition)

by Details Flowers ● 28 August ● Partners

When news broke of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement, the first thing on most people’s minds was the ring and her outfit. But for us florists? 🌸 We couldn’t stop staring at the flowers. Garden roses spilling out of urns, chandeliers dripping in ranunculus, pathways paved in blooms — the kind of floral fantasy that makes our hearts skip a beat and our floral minds go into overdrive.

So, naturally, we had to ask: what would it actually cost to be the florist behind this love story?

Thanks to Details Flowers Software, we didn’t have to wonder. We built out a full proposal — complete with photos, recipes, costs, and labor breakdowns — to see exactly what it would take to pull off a “Taylor Experience™.” Here’s a peek behind the petals:

The Love Story Urns

Overflowing with Juliet, Lavender Bouquet, Blanche Spray, and Miyabi roses, accented by hydrangea, delphinium, amaranthus, and crinum lilies — these urns stood like timeless pillars of romance. Whimsical, structured, and lush, they framed the engagement scene like something out of a garden novel. Based on the recipe, each urn would be priced at about $2,500, with two totaling $5,000, showing just how quickly a few statement pieces can add up to something unforgettable.

The Love Story Archway

A sweeping frame of smilax dripping with Juliet and Miyabi roses, hydrangea, anemones, and ranunculus. Soft whites, blushes, and peaches gave this archway a storybook quality — a true fairytale entrance. When the recipe and labor hours were added up, this archway came in around $7,500, proof that beauty at this scale always comes with a price tag worthy of its impact.

The Love Story Pathway

A runway for romance, lined with O’Hara, Juliet, and Lavender Bouquet roses, hydrangea, delphinium, ranunculus, and allium. Every step down this pathway felt like walking through a blooming garden. To create this lush floral runway, the recipe totaled approximately $15,000, reflecting both the abundance of blooms and the hours of preparation needed to transform a simple walk into a fairytale entrance.

The Love Story Floral Room

An immersive experience where walls and accents bloomed with Blanche Spray and Miyabi roses, spray roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, and anemones. It was a space that wrapped the couple in florals — cozy, whimsical, and unforgettable. The recipe breakdown showed this room would cost around $6,000, making it one of the most extravagant (and memorable) elements of the proposal.

The Love Story Chandelier

A floating garden overhead, with cascades of smilax cradling ranunculus, Miyabi roses, and white allium. Airy and enchanting, it transformed the entire space into something magical. Factoring in blooms, wiring, rigging, and labor, this chandelier reached about $1,500 — the kind of centerpiece that defines the whole event.

Behind every extravagant proposal is an immense amount of unseen work. Labor costs can vary depending on the preparation required, the size of the design team, the location logistics, and the hours spent coordinating with the client. For an event of this scale, working with Travis Kelce to make sure every detail was perfect for Taylor, the labor alone could easily climb upwards of $10,000. From drafting timelines and scheduling staff, to staging heavy mechanics and hiding assistants in the bushes (yes, really!), it’s the kind of investment that ensures everything comes together seamlessly in the moment.

When you add it all up — urns, archway, pathway, floral room, and chandelier — the Taylor Experience came to an engagement installation subtotal of $35,000, and with services and tax included, a grand total of $47,925

How Details Flowers Software Made It Possible

Large Blog Images #2-2

Behind every dreamy installation is math, and that’s where Details Flowers Software truly shines. Building recipes on the Worksheet allowed us to drag in inspiration photos, add each bloom, and instantly see costs and stem counts come together. When we needed to include mechanics, rentals, or candles, adding new items was seamless — ensuring no detail went overlooked. The stem counter kept us accurate when ordering in bunches, so we didn’t overspend or come up short. And instead of treating labor as an afterthought, we could weave it into markup or add it as a clear fee, reflecting the true value of time, staff, and artistry. Finally, once the numbers were set, customizing the proposal turned spreadsheets into a polished, branded presentation that clients could instantly connect with. From start to finish, Details turned a wild celebrity fantasy into a clear, repeatable roadmap that any florist could recreate.

Why Build Proposals Like This?

Here’s the real magic: this entire “Taylor & Travis” proposal took only about 25 minutes to create in Details. By uploading photos, adding recipes, and letting the software handle costs, labor, and markup, we now have everything saved and ready to repeat. If another client walks in and says, “I want the Taylor Experience™,” we can pull it up, tweak, and send — without reinventing the wheel.

At the end of the day, this blog may be a playful what if, but the lesson is real: pricing big installs is all about clarity, detail, and tools that make your life easier.

So… what would you have charged? 🌸💍
