This September, the Details Flowers Software team attended the 2026 Boss Lady Women’s Leadership Conference, a three-day event that brought together professional women from across Volusia and Flagler Counties and beyond for education, networking, and personal and professional growth.
Held September 17–19 at the Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort, this year’s conference focused on helping women step into their full potential. For Details, the experience was especially meaningful because we were able to contribute flowers for the event while also experiencing the conference alongside the women who attended.
It gave our team a chance to step outside of our usual day-to-day work and take part in the kinds of leadership, business, and personal conversations many of our customers navigate every day.

The Boss Lady Ladder Network brings women together through education, networking, and support, creating opportunities for women at different stages of their careers and businesses to learn from one another.
The 2026 conference featured keynote presentations, breakout sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, a live podcast recording, dinner and entertainment, and a workshop designed to help attendees put what they learned into action.
The topics varied, but many centered around familiar challenges in both business and life: overcoming self-doubt, making difficult decisions, navigating career changes, finding balance, building meaningful relationships, and becoming a more intentional leader.
One session explored the idea of moving from being a constant “human doing” to a “human being,” encouraging attendees to step away from the pressure to always accomplish more and to make space for greater awareness and presence.
Other presentations encouraged attendees to choose bravery over waiting until they feel completely ready, recognize when their current way of doing things is no longer sustainable, and become more intentional about where they invest their time and energy.
Together, the sessions offered different perspectives on what it means to grow without losing sight of yourself along the way.
A highlight for our team was seeing Details Founder and CEO Corrine Heck take the main stage for “In Sync: Building a Culture That Moves as One.”
Corrine’s career has always brought together creativity, technology, and business. As a florist-turned-software developer and founder of Details Flowers Software, she has spent more than 26 years in the floral industry and has built Details to help floral professionals manage the business side of their work.
Her participation in Boss Lady was a natural fit for a conference focused on leadership and growth. It was also special for our team to watch Corrine share her experience with an audience in our own local community.

Technology was another important part of the conversation, with a session exploring AI as a practical business tool.
Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for human expertise, the presentation focused on using it as a tool while keeping human judgment, experience, and industry knowledge at the center. It also highlighted the importance of reviewing AI-generated information and being thoughtful about privacy and sensitive business data.
That perspective resonated with our team at Details. We work in technology every day, but we know that the best technology is ultimately about supporting people and solving real business challenges.
The conference also addressed workplace value, mentorship and sponsorship, authentic leadership, and the realities of balancing professional responsibilities with life outside of work.

A significant part of the last morning was dedicated to examining the latest Women in the Workplace research from McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.Org. Now in its 11th year, the study looks at the experiences and advancement of women across corporate America, drawing on data from more than 120 organizations, approximately 10,000 employees, and interviews with HR leaders.
The discussion gave attendees an opportunity to look beyond individual experiences and consider broader trends affecting women at work. The 2025 report found that women remain underrepresented at every level of the corporate pipeline, particularly in senior leadership, and that women continue to receive less career support and sponsorship than men. It also found that when women receive comparable career support, the gap in their desire to advance largely disappears.
For our team, the conversation connected naturally with many of the other topics explored throughout the retreat, including mentorship, leadership, workplace culture, work-life balance, and creating opportunities for women to grow.

As a local company, supporting organizations in our community is an important part of what we do. Providing the flowers for Boss Lady gave us a chance to contribute to an event while also getting to know the women who attended.
The Boss Lady Ladder Network continues that work beyond the annual conference through Ladder Groups, which create smaller opportunities for women to connect, share experiences, and support one another throughout the year.
We are grateful to have been part of the 2026 Boss Lady Women’s Leadership Conference and to have experienced such a thoughtful event alongside our local community.
For our team, it was a reminder that professional growth is about more than business. It is also about the people we meet, the ideas we exchange, and the willingness to keep learning along the way.
