Earlier this month, members of the Details Flowers Software team traveled to Miami to attend the WFFSA Floral Distribution Conference, joining wholesalers, growers, breeders, and suppliers from across the floral supply chain for several days of education, discussion, and connection. This year, Corrine, Gregory, Brandy, Whitney, and Crystal attended the event. It was extremely memorable to make these connections with the companies that are the backbone of our industry. If you did not have a chance to attend this year, here is our official recap!
Pre-Show Prep: A Visit to Jet Fresh Flowers

Before the hustle and bustle of FDC 2026 began, the Details Team took a deep dive into the supply chain with a personal visit to our partners at Jet Fresh Flower Distributors.
Tours of their Miami facility allowed the team to see firsthand the incredible logistics and care that go into every stem. It wasn't just a tour, though; it was a mission. Our team spent the morning hand-picking the exact varieties and specific blooms that would bring our booth to life. Collaborating with the Jet Fresh crew ensured that every petal on display met the highest standards of freshness and "wow-factor" for our visitors.
Industry Roundtables Spark Important Conversations

One of the most valuable parts of the conference was the roundtable discussions, where industry leaders gathered to exchange ideas and perspectives on the topics shaping the future of floriculture.
A major theme throughout these conversations was the growing role of e-commerce platforms in the floral supply chain. As technology continues to influence how businesses operate and how customers place orders, attendees shared insights about digital ordering systems, online marketplaces, and how wholesalers and retailers are adapting to meet evolving expectations.

Sustainability was another key topic discussed throughout the roundtables. From packaging innovations to responsible sourcing and transportation efficiencies, the industry is actively exploring ways to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the quality and reliability customers expect.
Participants also discussed how supermarkets are continuing to evolve their floral offerings, particularly as grocery chains expand their floral departments and begin catering more intentionally to events and celebrations. This shift is opening new opportunities within retail floral while also encouraging traditional floral businesses to think creatively about how they position their products and services.
These discussions reflected the collaborative nature of the conference and highlighted the industry's shared commitment to advancing floriculture.
That Flower Feeling

With so many flowers on hand throughout the conference, That Flower Feeling set up a bouquet-making station where attendees could create arrangements to be donated to the local community. Participants were invited to stop by, build a bouquet, and add it to a collection that would later be distributed to brighten someone’s day. The station gave people a chance to step away from meetings for a few minutes and work with flowers while contributing to a simple but meaningful effort. Our team also joined in, helping assemble several bouquets alongside other attendees. It was a great example of the floral community coming together to share the impact flowers can have beyond the industry.
A Global Showcase on the Tradeshow Floor

The conference also featured a lively tabletop tradeshow, where companies from around the world gathered to showcase the products, flowers, and solutions supporting today’s floral professionals.
Walking the tradeshow floor offered attendees a chance to discover new varieties, explore innovative floral supplies and mechanics, and learn about the latest tools designed to support efficiency throughout the floral distribution process. It also provided the perfect setting to reconnect with longtime partners and meet new industry innovators bringing fresh ideas to the market.

The energy throughout the tradeshow reflected the truly global nature of the floral industry and the creativity that continues to drive it forward.
Bloom Together After Party

On Monday, March 2, the conversations continued beyond the conference halls during the Bloom Together After Party at Copper Blues Rock Pub in Doral.
Hosted by Above All Flowers and New Bloom Solutions, the event brought together professionals from across the floral industry for an evening of networking, storytelling, and celebrating the relationships that keep the industry strong. The relaxed atmosphere allowed attendees to connect with both familiar faces and new friends while sharing experiences from across the supply chain.
Havana Nights Closes the Conference

The conference concluded with a festive evening during Havana Nights, hosted by Syndicate Sales. The event provided a lively way to wrap up several days of education and collaboration, bringing attendees together for music, conversation, and celebration in true Miami style.
After a full schedule of meetings, discussions, and networking, Havana Nights offered the perfect opportunity to unwind while continuing to strengthen the relationships that make the floral community so special.
Closing Comments

On the final day, attendees also heard an important announcement regarding one of the industry’s most respected leaders. Augusto Solano will retire this April as President of the Asociación Colombiana de Exportadores de Flores (Asocolflores).
For more than two decades, Solano has served as a passionate advocate and leader for the floral industry. His work helped strengthen the global presence of Colombian flowers and build meaningful partnerships throughout the international marketplace. His leadership has played a significant role in shaping the industry over the past 25 years, and his impact will continue to be felt for many years to come.
As a testament to this ongoing legacy, Asocolflores (through Flowers of Colombia) served as the official sponsor for the 2026 Floral Xcellence Awards at this year's FDC. This celebration of quality and innovation culminated in the announcement of the Member Choice Award, the only category voted on directly by WFFSA members onsite.

Congratulations to Native Blooms for their stunning "Golden Dragon Fly" rose, which captured the hearts and votes of their peers to take home the final trophy of the session. It was a fitting highlight to an event dedicated to the global floral supply chain that Solano has spent his career championing.
Looking Ahead

Each year, the WFFSA Floral Distribution Conference creates an important space for industry professionals to come together, exchange ideas, and support the continued growth of floriculture.
With another successful conference behind us, the industry is already looking forward to the next gathering. The 2027 WFFSA Floral Distribution Conference will take place February 28–March 3 at the Miami Airport Convention Center, where the floral community will once again come together to collaborate, learn, and celebrate our industry!
