Our PR Director, Myranda, had the opportunity to visit the Fleurs De Villes FEMMES exhibition at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami. "It was quite a beautiful testament to the strong women that have shaped history. All of the florists did such a wonderful job, and it was a joyous occasion to celebrate all of the local florists and a local supplier that participated in the event!" Myranda Sauls, Details Flowers Software.
The event took place from March 4th to the 14th and honored the women in our history that has paved the way in their respective industries. In honor of Women's History month, it was truly fitting to have these women on display. Here are all of the designs with the original photos of the women who inspired them:
"FDV was fantastic! All of the designers went above and beyond to not only make their designs amazing, but they also had to keep them alive for 14 days! They were only allowed to use a limited amount of preserved/dried items, so they had to construct elaborate hydration solutions and use flowers very carefully and strategically. It was an extra challenge for the designers as they were assigned a specific photo of the iconic woman and they had to match that specific dress. Each dress was done by a different designer, and it's great to see all the amazing talent and different styles of designers down here. Our very own, Olga Ramirez, AIFD, CFD was one of the 3 guests judges and had the hard task of selecting winners from 4 categories, Most Realistic, Most Technical, Most Creative, and Best in Show." -Jet Fresh Flower Distributors
"So, Rosaprima is pretty involved with Fleurs De Villes. We have donated flowers in the past for their projects and Ross, our President, and CEO, has been sort of chosen by them to be one of the judges. For the FEMME collection, he was not able to attend and asked me to replace him. I was like, absolutely. It’s such an honor."
"There are 4 categories to look out for. Best in Show, Most Creative, Most Technical, and Most Realistic. The walkthrough is out of this world, it’s almost like we are running out of time and it’s getting hard to absorb all of it in. Realization of just how much work, love for flowers, and dedication went into each mannequin starts to set in after you see about 3 of them. So hard to pick favorites. With each new one, it’s like: 'Oh wow! Look at the details! How stunning is this!' Once we make our decision, we make our way to the patio where all the participating florists are waiting for the announcement of the winners. I learn that some of them worked the whole night through to make their work of art. Incredible. Something to admire, for sure. I am leaving with an incredible experience and even more love for our fantastic floral industry."
