Internship Program
Last year, we welcomed four talented interns from Stetson University to the Details Executive Offices. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives brought incredible energy to our team as they immersed themselves in real-world projects across multiple departments. From assisting in sales initiatives to supporting marketing campaigns and enhancing client service strategies, these interns contributed meaningfully to our daily operations.
Throughout their internship, the students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Details Flowers Software, learning how our platform supports florists worldwide. They participated in brainstorming sessions, collaborated on creative marketing materials, and contributed to streamlining client communication processes. Their dedication and hard work allowed them to sharpen their skills while providing valuable insights to our team. We’re proud to have been part of their professional journey and to offer them a closer look at the exciting opportunities within the floral industry. Their contributions significantly impacted our team, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to thrive in their future careers.
Petal It Forward
This year, the devastation caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton inspired us to uplift our community and spread joy. The Society of American Florists' Petal It Forward initiative provided the perfect opportunity to give back. On Tuesday, October 15th, we received 170 stunning bouquets from our partners at Jet Fresh, and our entire Details team came together to prepare them. For many of us, processing the flowers was a new and eye-opening experience, adding a meaningful layer to our efforts.
On Petal It Forward Day, our CEO Corrine Heck spoke at One Million Cups Daytona Beach, highlighting the transformative power of flowers in bringing positivity to communities. As a surprise, attendees received two bouquets each—one to keep and one to share. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a newfound appreciation for the floral industry and a desire to support similar initiatives. The joy and excitement in the room were palpable, reinforcing the impact of this meaningful event.
After the event, we distributed the remaining bouquets around Daytona and Ormond Beach, sharing kindness with strangers, local businesses, and first responders. Witnessing the joy on recipients' faces and the ripple effect of paying it forward was incredibly heartwarming. We’re honored to be part of an industry that spreads so much happiness, and we encourage everyone to follow SAF’s updates to participate next year. Here’s to continuing the tradition and spreading joy through flowers for years to come!
Stetson Sales Class
This year, our CEO, Corrine, had the privilege of co-teaching an advanced sales class at Stetson University, offering students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the floral industry. The course was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of sales within a specialized industry and Details Flowers Software became an integral part of the learning process. By incorporating our platform into their curriculum, students learned about the floral industry and developed a hands-on understanding of how technology can streamline sales and operations. Integrating our software into their lessons brought the floral industry to life in a way that textbooks never could.
As part of the course, students were trained to use Details Flowers Software and walked through our sales process, which prepared them to make actual calls to florists to sell the software. This practical experience allowed them to apply classroom theories in real-world scenarios, giving them a deeper understanding of sales dynamics. For many, it was their first experience with a live sales environment, and their growth throughout the semester was remarkable. They gained confidence, honed their communication skills, and began to see themselves as capable sales professionals. Witnessing their transformation and the genuine enthusiasm they developed for the floral industry was incredibly rewarding.
Beyond sales training, the class highlighted the diverse career paths available within the floral industry, opening the students' eyes to possibilities they may not have previously considered. The industry offers many opportunities, from technology and logistics to creative design and marketing. By the end of the semester, many students expressed a newfound appreciation for the business and a deeper interest in exploring careers in this vibrant and dynamic field. Collaborating with Stetson University was an inspiring experience, and we’re excited about the potential of future partnerships to cultivate the next generation of talent in the floral industry.
