The Interflora World Cup is a prestigious event that happens every four years. Floral designers from around the world compete in this event to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation in creating breathtaking floral designs. The competition typically involves a series of challenges and tasks that test the participants' abilities to craft intricate and imaginative floral designs. These designs often encompass a wide range of themes and styles, from classical and traditional to contemporary and avant-garde. The talent from all over the world is absolutely magnificent. Check out this blog to meet all of the competitors of this year's World Cup!
To be the US Representative, Jenny had to qualify last year at the AIFD Annual Symposium. In January of this year, she was given the guidelines for this year's World Cup so she could start preparing for the competition. She conceptualized her designs over the last few months and created as many structures as possible beforehand. To get in the competition zone, Jenny put herself through moc timed design sessions and made herself think outside the box.
During the Interflora World Cup, all competitors are given multiple surprise tasks where they must think on their feet to create a design. To help her with this, she always remembered to keep her design clean and think of something no one else would create. These tasks force the florists to dig into their toolbox and show off their skill set.
The Interflora World Cup provides a platform for florists to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and push the boundaries of floral design. It's a competition and a global gathering of floral enthusiasts and professionals who share a passion for the art of flowers. She said the inspiration the other competitors taught her will be skills she carries with her in her future designs.
Jenny mentioned her memories and the relationships created with the competitors, and her support system will last her a lifetime. She is beyond thankful for all of her sponsors and the support of her family and floral friends from the US. She has some pretty exciting things to come, and we highly suggest you follow along in her journey!
