# Spreading Joy in Our Community for Petal It Forward 2026

Every year, the Details team participates in [Petal It Forward](https://safnow.org/petalitforward/), a national initiative created by the [Society of American Florists](https://safnow.org/) (SAF) that encourages people to share the joy of flowers through simple acts of kindness. This year, we visited even more local, women-owned businesses, and historic landmarks throughout Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach, surprising people with beautiful blooms and brightening their day.
We were also thrilled to partner with [Alexandra Farms](https://www.alexandrafarms.com/), who generously supplied the flowers for this year’s event. Their garden roses were an absolute standout, with their large blooms, vibrant colors, and incredible fragrance. Many of the people we met had never seen roses quite like these, making it a wonderful opportunity to introduce our community to Alexandra Farms and the beauty of their flowers.
## Starting the Day with Our Local Business Community
Our morning began at [Cinematique Theatre](https://www.cinematique.org/) on historic Beach Street in Daytona Beach, where we joined the local chapter of [1 Million Cups](https://www.1millioncups.com/s/). This group brings together entrepreneurs and business owners to connect, share ideas, and support one another’s growth.
The 1 Million Cups community holds a special place in our hearts because it was one of the first groups where our CEO, Corrine Heck, introduced Details Flowers Software. We’ve surprised the group with flowers for the past several years, and each visit reminds us how meaningful these small gestures can be.
## Bringing Smiles to Ormond in the Pines
Next, we visited [Ormond in the Pines](https://ormondinthepinessl.com/) Senior Community, where we shared flowers with independent- and assisted-living residents, as well as the staff who care for them. The excitement was immediate as residents watched us bring in buckets of colorful blooms, many surprised that someone had stopped by simply to brighten their day.
Some of the most memorable moments came from celebrating residents with birthdays that week, including one turning 104 and another who celebrated that very day. We also had the chance to lift the spirits of a resident who wasn’t feeling her best. Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that flowers can communicate care, kindness, and connection in ways words sometimes cannot.
## Supporting Local Businesses
We continued our day at [Happy Co Surf and Coffee](https://happycompanyobc.com/) and [Canvas Beauty Co](https://www.canvasbeauty.company/)., sharing flowers and spreading the word about the Petal It Forward initiative. These visits gave us another opportunity to connect with local business owners, celebrate the people who make our community special, and introduce more people to Details and the work we do within the floral industry.
Our final stop was [The Casements](https://www.ormondbeach.org/433/The-Casements), the historic Ormond Beach home of John D. Rockefeller. Today, the property is a beloved local landmark, welcoming residents and visitors for tours, community gatherings, and special events.
The staff and visitors were delighted by the unexpected flowers. Since The Casements hosts so many events and brings people together from near and far, it was especially meaningful to share a little floral joy with the people who help make this historic location such an important part of our community.
## Small Gestures, Lasting Smiles
Petal It Forward is a wonderful reminder of the positive impact flowers can have on our everyday lives. Florists across all 50 states, along with participants in countries worldwide, take part in this annual initiative to spread kindness and encourage others to do the same.
We’re grateful to Alexandra Farms for providing such beautiful blooms and to everyone who welcomed us throughout the day. From local entrepreneurs and small business teams to senior residents and visitors exploring our town, every stop gave us another reason to love what flowers can do.
