We recently had the pleasure of attending the Arizona State Floral Association Annual Expo for the first time, and it was an incredible experience! The event, held in Phoenix, brought together floral enthusiasts, industry professionals, and vendors from all over the state and beyond. Here’s a recap of the highlights and memorable moments from the expo.
The expo featured various workshops and presentations, offering valuable tips and hands-on learning experiences. There was something for everyone, from advanced floral design techniques to effective business strategies. Standout sessions included:
The expo hall was filled with activities showcasing products and services from exhibitors and vendors. Attendees had the chance to explore the latest floral supplies, tools, and technology. One of the most rewarding aspects of the expo was the opportunity to network with fellow floral professionals. The event provided numerous occasions to connect, share experiences, and build new relationships!
We enjoyed meeting our customers from Allan's Flowers, Arizona Family Flowers, and Sedona Mountain High Flowers. Thank you for sharing your experiences with Details! We also awarded a Details Flowers Software Scholarship to Christina from Christina Ignatious, LLC—Welcome to the Details Family!
A unique twist on the educational sessions was the eight-minute circuit. Six designers presented hot topics, allowing groups of attendees to rotate and learn. Christina from Urban Desert Flora discussed sustainable event creation, The Wildflower AZ covered color theory and palette establishment, Zinnia Floral Co. demonstrated glue-free wearable flowers, Lux Florist showcased easy large installations, KC Florals taught budget-friendly trendy pocket squares, and Bloom Maven showed how to incorporate cacti into bouquets and arrangements. These sessions were wonderfully presented, adding a fun, interactive element beyond traditional presentations.
The floral design competition was a true highlight, showcasing immense talent and creativity within the floral community. Congratulations to Details Customer Martha Aaron of Mountain High Flowers for winning Designer of the Year!
Awards were also a significant part of the event. ASFA awarded the Public Service Award and the Hall of Fame Award. Downtown Tempe Authority received the Public Service Award for its exceptional service to the Tempe area by bringing blooms to the downtown area and creating community art with its new event, Tempe Blooms. Askren & Sons won the Hall of Fame Award for their longstanding support of the industry, dedicating the win to their parents with a moving speech.
Thank you to the organizers, presenters, exhibitors, and fellow attendees for making this year’s expo an unforgettable experience. Let’s continue to support and elevate the floral industry together!
